- In the U.S., August 2nd is promoted as the official "National Ice Cream Sandwich Day".
- In Australia, the ice cream sandwich was commonly referred to as a "cream between".
- Until the 1970s in the United Kingdom, the ice cream sandwich was the main ice cream dessert rather than the cone-up one. Since then, however, it is rarely seen being eaten.
